Kul
Design Studios
Coming soon to the Davis Building, Kul Designs was approved by City
Council in June 2004 as the first retailer to come to Main Street
under the Main Street Retail Incentive Grant Program. This modern
hybrid retail showroom of custom furniture, original art and accessories
plans to be open by Christmas 2004.

Dallas
Power and Light Buildings
Hamilton Properties, developer of the Davis Building, began redevelopment
in March 2004 of the Dallas Power and Light Buildings, located
at 1506 and 1512 Commerce Street. The renovation will add 158
luxury rental apartments to the flourishing downtown residential
community, and over 25,000 square feet of retail. The first residential
units will be available for move-in by March 2005, with a projected
total completion date of July 2005. One of the surface parking
lots will be developed into a parking garage with residential
amenities such as a pool and health club on the parking garage
roof. A pedestrian walkway similar to Stone Street will be developed

Main Street
Joule Urban Resort
'deLuxe Hotel Group' has begun construction on Joule Urban Resort,
designed by famed Italian designer Adam Tihany. This project will
transform the once vacant building into a 125-room boutique hotel
with ground floor retail.

Main Street
With unique building design, English developers have begun to
transform 1217 Main into a restaurant/retail combination with
public roof top garden that will serve as the gateway to the Main
Street District.

Main and the Gulf States Building
Construction
is expected to start by the end of the year at 1407 Main Street
which will add 20,000 square feet of retail space, and eight-story
parking garage and additional residential. Together with the Gulf
States Building, this complete project will add 120 for lease
units in 2006.

Interurban
Building
1500 Jackson Street
In November
2004, construction began on redevelopment of the eight-story Interurban
Building. Developers plan to open a supermarket and 134 rental
units by summer 2005.
The 20,000 square-foot market will feature all the standard products
of a larger market, coupled with gourmet food and a "chic
urban" motif. |

Hart
Furniture Building/Kindals
Located next
door to the Majestic Theater, the Hart Furniture building broke
ground on January 13, 2003, as construction began on Blue, a high
end nightclub, and connected restaurant, Kindals. Blue is now
open, with Kindals to begin construction by the end of the year.
