We are begging for change. As we renew our efforts to proactively confront panhandling, we are asking the public to stop giving money to soliciting panhandlers in an effort to distinguish between homelessness and panhandling. Instead, we encourage contributions to be made to efficient organizations that empower the less fortunate and offer accountability to the giver. In giving to individuals on the street, spare change may be perpetuating the problem and keeping those in need from real, lasting change.
